Week 10 Lesson Review: Beat up a Kid!

Ok, maybe the title's a little strong, but...

This week, using various techniques outlined in a PDF tutorial we were given (I can't link to it here, as it's not mine to do so with), we're to take this image:



And make him look like this:


Here's my attempt:

 

I tried to "dirty" him up a bit more, and also tried to make the highlighting and specularity just a little more realistic, and gave him an extra scar or two, but other than that, I tried to faithfully adhere to the tutorial's guidelines. As always, comments and suggestions are both welcome and encouraged.

  1. The main thing I notice is that your scarring appears quite orange instead of red like those thin dark red scraps and the cut line showing dried blood. His overall face seems to also have this orange cast to it. His pupils are also larger than the "target" image. His nose wound is very close to the target. Nicely done.
    Overall, your efforts are close to the target aside from the aforementioned areas.
